Jane Austen (1775-1817)

The Beautiful Casandra

Penguin Classics No33.

This little volume hints at what is to follow in Austen’s novels.  Written for her family at about aged sixteen, these stories, whilst undeveloped, are delightfully funny and one feels are just a warm-up for the more developed characterisations we know and love.
